about
Based on a phrase produced by an internal dialogue I once had that was inspired by something tangentially related that was said to me by C.F. in the Fall of 2010.
lyrics
I used to kiss like a girl,
but apparently, now I don't
(now you don't)
There was a time, I remember when
I naïvely believed it could manly to be feminine.
So when we touched we would touch in a tentative way,
careful nothing we'd do gave our intentions away.
And when we kissed it would be soft and sensually
I loved the way you held your breath when you came close to me.
And as the time passed this all happened more comfortably,
I felt my arms growing used to the shape you would leave.
And they grew tighter and tighter, 'till finally, you said to me,
a string of words that made so little sense when applied to me:
"You used to kiss like a girl, but now you don't."
I used to kiss like a girl, but apparently now I don't
(now you don't)
